The visit follows a partnership with RIAT which dates back to 2012 when Trilateral Tilapia Cooperation was signed at RIAT between the State of Israel, Federal Republic of Germany and Government of Kenya. In July 2020, H.E Ambassador Oded Joseph paid a courtesy to RIAT to strengthen the existing partnership which resulted in equipment grant to strengthen practical aquaculture training.

NOTICE: VIRTUAL 4 TH GRADUATION CEREMONY
This is to notify ALL trainees who completed their training
between 2016 and 2020 of the planned graduation scheduled to
take place on Thursday, 2nd September 2021 at 10.00 a.m. at the
Institute’s graduation square.
The graduation will be live-streamed through links that will be
shared before the graduation day.
THE PRESIDENT, HON. UHURU KENYATTA LAUNCHES ENABLE YOUTH PROGRAM ON 4TH OF JUNE 2021 AT THE JAMHURI PARK
Applause to the President, Hon. Uhuru Kenyatta, and the Cabinet Sectary Hon. Peter Munya for spearheading the launch and rebranding of the 4-K clubs (Kuungana-Kufanya-Kusaidia- Kenya), Young Farmers Club, and the ENABLE Youth Kenya Program to improve farming and agribusiness skills. The president flags off 520 youths from across the country to undergo training and incubation in selected partner institutions.
The Principal, Maren Omondi (Mrs), Youth Agribusiness Incubation Centre Manager and trainer, Madam Nancy Oloo, and 74 youth incubatees from RIAT attended this auspicious occasion. The youths will undergo training in entrepreneurship and technical skills in various agricultural value chains. The youths will also be financed by AFC and AfDB to pursue their agribusiness ideas.
Agriculture is the backbone of Kenya’s economy and contributes 35% of Kenya’s GDP. All the food that we eat is from the agriculture sector. For Kenya to achieve food security, agricultural farming skills are required especially by those below 35 years.

EQUITY BANK PARTNERS WITH RIAT TO PLANT 5000 TREES, AMIDST THE COVID 19 PANDEMIC.
Once again, RIAT realizes its vision of conserving and improving
the environment by planting 5,000 trees. This is in line with the Big
Four Agenda and the Government’s vision of planting 1.8 Billion
trees by 2022 to preserve biodiversity.
A big applause to Equity Bank for donating to the Institute 5000
tree seedlings and participating in the Institutes tree planting
exercise on 19 th April 2021. The auspicious occasion was graced by
the County Director TVET Kisumu-Siaya, Mr. Fanuel Onyango, the
Equity Bank Branch Manager Mr. Welton Omullo and, the
Principal, Mrs. Maren Omondi.
The Institute appreciates the office of the Area Chief, Kanyakwar
sub-location for supporting the noble exercise through Kazi Mtaani.
In the last four years, RIAT has partnered with the County
Environment Office, Agricultural Society of Kenya, and Lake Basin
Development Authority in tree planting. A total of 14,500 trees have
been planted so far.
“Many years ago, RIAT was all rocks but now it’s a green
environment,” says the County Director, TVET.
