PS-SDTVET Dr.Muoria Champions Skills Recognition at the RPL Training

The Principal Secretary- State Department of Technical, Vocational Education and Training(PS-SDTVET)Dr. Esther Muoria, joined the RPL Practioners during the closing ceremony of the training. In her speech, Dr. Muoria reaffirmed the Government's efforts and commitment in ensuring that all it's country men and women are skilled and recognised to align with the global market standards.The PS-SDTVET emphasised that the State Department is keen in their efforts of successfully rolling out the RPL Programme seamlessly across all TVET Institutions immediately after the training exercise is completed.The trained practitioners were urged to be the ambassadors of the Programme by ensuring they are able to scout and enroll the young people with the skills.

Recognition of Prior Learning(RPL) Practitioners Training

The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) training programme bringing together four institutions, was officially inaugurated at RIAT in a ceremony graced by Mr. Stanley Maindi, the Director RPL Delivery Unit.The training is aimed at ensuring that all trainers across TVET institutions are adequately prepared to recognize, assess and certify individuals whole possess skills and competencies in the various fields but lack the certifications as certified as RPL Practitioners.The director officially marked the commencement of the training by planting trees which is a symbolic TVET greening activity to celebrate environmental stewardshipand the anticipated growth and sustainability of the RPL initiative within the participating institutions.

Pre-Retirement Training

The Institute organised a Pre-retirement training for our staff members both Training and non-Training staff members, to equip soon-to-retire members with the knowledge and confidence needed to navigate the transition in life after work. The speakers from Kenya school of Goverment equiped the members with information that included exploring investment plans and opportunities, Personal Finance Management, Managing change and transition from the Public service to ensure long-term financial and emotional stability. The training also provided the employees with insights to guide them through their psychological and lifestyle aspects of transitioning into retirement, offering strategies for adapting to change and building a fulfilling new chapter beyond their professional roles.
